Project Planning
Tech Logistics understands our role can be anything from project manager to team members working under the direction of your IT department. Whatever level of organisation and involvement you need from us, we will assign a dedicated project manager who will be your point of contact until everything is moved and operating properly at your new location. We will deploy whatever resources are required to complete your relocation on time
Pre-move Hardware Audit/Site Survey
Your dedicated project manager will evaluate your computing environment, help determine requirements, and develop a plan to provide you with a smooth, hassle-free move. We will then perform a pre-move inventory of all equipment designated to be moved – this confirms what peripherals and cables employees have prior to the move. The document created for this step eliminates any confusion over specialized devices at any desktop and ensures that each employee receives the same components after the move.
Preparation & Labelling
Office Equipment
Each workstation or staff member will be assigned a unique location ID and moving tags. Tech Logistics will supply labels that will need to be affixed to all items to be moved. We will also supply custom ID tags for items not to be moved or for recycling.
Clear plastic keyboard bags labelled with the designated destination tag will be distributed to each user. (During the move, Tech Logistics will affix the Tags to each item and insert keyboard, mouse, phone, cables, etc. in the bag.)
Printers, switches etc will be labelled with their current location ID.
Servers and Infrastructure
As with office equipment we will provide unique identifier tags and labels for each piece of equipment in your server room.
Decommissioning
Shut Down
Our network engineers properly shut down servers as agreed during the planning stage. Our technicians shut down workstations and printers etc.
Disconnect
Our trained technicians make the disconnects and gather all cables and peripherals.
Packaging & Labelling
We identify and pack your systems to protect from in-transit shock or damage. Each workstation is tagged, major components are bubble wrapped, minor peripherals and cords are packed in zip lock bags.
Servers, switches and infrastructure will be removed from cabinets or open rack environments, we then label and box each piece with destination location and any other necessary information.
Moving
Once systems are safely packed, our dedicated vehicles and trained staff transport your equipment directly to your new location or into our own secure storage. We can safely store your equipment until your new location is ready to receive your equipment. Any equipment not required at your new location will be recycled and documentation provided.
Recommissioning
Technicians will unpack and reconnect workstations, peripherals, phones, printers etc. All equipment will be turned on and tested.
We will install servers back in your racks as required and turn on and test. A full post move inventory will be performed. We will work with your IT staff every step of the way and our engineers will not leave site until both us and you are fully satisfied that everything is working as it should.
